Boudoir Photography FAQs
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions, so I wanted to compile a list of the top 12 questions I get asked frequently to help give you some insight on preparing for your boudoir session.
Do you share my images?
My number one priority is to make sure you are comfortable and confident during your entire experience with me. It can be a life changing experience, but that can also make it a little nerve wrecking. Sometimes we’re still learning to love our body and we aren’t ready to share that with the world, or sometimes the photos are specifically for a special gift to someone special and for no one else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos and that is totally okay. Sharing your photos in the ladies only VIP group, or anywhere else is completely up to you and if you’re comfortable with it. It’s totally personal preference and is left completely up to you to decide. I can also only share specific photos if that’s what you’re comfortable with too.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie. What you want to wear should reflect your personality and make you feel confident and sexy. There are so many outfit ideas other than lacy little things. Head over to the blog to get some more outfit ideas!
Do you have payment plans?
I offer a few payment options. There is a booking retainer to book your session, and the balance is due 2 weeks before the date of the session. If you’d like more time to be able to pay off the package, you can schedule it a few months out and pay it off in payments. Let me know if this is something you’d like to set up.
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup is included in all boudoir experiences. I think it’s important for you to feel pampered and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that. Our amazing team can help you complete your boudoir look, whether that’s ‘I woke up like this’ or full on glam. You can bring any ideas you want for your hair and makeup and we can use it as inspiration.
Do you photoshop my images?
I do edited your images in light, exposure and color balance but I do not edit anything out that is permanent. I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done and edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself. If there are parts you are learning to love about yourself and you aren’t thrilled about, that is okay. I’m skilled in posing and lighting to make you look and feel your absolute best.
Where should I buy outfits?
There are lots of places to buy different outfits from and it depends on what you’re getting and the style of the shoot you’re going for. Here is a list of some options with different styles and sizing.
Amazon
Forever 21
Victoria’s Secret
Torrid
Aerie
If you are looking for something specific that you can’t find, let me know and I’ll see if I can help!
What type of print products do you have?
I offer a variety of albums and luxury glass and gloss boxes with prints in them, as well as regular prints and canvases and viewfinders which are really fun. The glass box with prints in them may be one of my favorite items. I love the feel of picking up a physical print, and it’s so surreal to see yourself like that. Sometimes we look at them more than our partner just to feel good! it’s a daily reminder that your self-image has completely changed after having a boudoir shoot.
Do you offer digitals?
All of my packages include some sort of print product but there is also an a la carte list that you can choose from as well. On the a la carte menu, there is an option to add digital images. Digital images come in a locked online gallery for you to download and share.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you weren’t nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot will make your ‘WOW’ moment of seeing your photos for the first time, so much better.
How many outfits should I bring?
Choose your favorite 2-3 outfits but if we have time during our session we can always go with a few more. Time constraints only promise for 2 outfits but depending on what looks you’d love to achieve, we can aim for more. If you’re deciding between a few, bring them all and we can decide together day of.
Should I get to my shoot early?
You should plan on arriving atleast 10 minutes early so we can discuss outfits and make a plan for your hair and makeup team.
Where is your studio locacted?
My studio is in Battle Ground, WA.
